“ابتسامة واندهاش”، هكذا جاء رد فعل رجل الأعمال القطري، ناصر الخليفي، رئيس نادي باريس سان جيرمان، بعد سؤاله عن اقتراب المهاجم الفرنسي كيليان مبابي من الانتقال إلى ريال مدريد.

مبابي عقده ينتهي مع باريس سان جيرمان، في نهاية الشهر القادم، 30 يونيو، والدولي الفرنسي يرفض التوقيع على عقد جديد مع بي اس جي في ظل رغبته في الانتقال إلى ريال مدريد.

مبابي أثار التكهنات حول اقترابه من الانتقال إلى ريال مدريد، بالتواجد في مدريد رفقة أشرف حكيمي وسيرجيو راموس، ويُقال إنه كان يتواجد في العاصمة الإسبانية للبحث عن منزل للانتقال إليه.

الخليفي طاردته كاميرات برنامج “شيرينجنتو” الإسباني الشهير، وعندما سُئل عما إذا كان كيليان مبابي سيلعب لريال مدريد الموسم المقبل، كان رئيس باريس سان جيرمان يضحك وأعطى المراسل بعض اللمحات.

المراسل قال للخليفي: “مساء الخير، هل مبابي سينضم إلى ريال مدريد في الموسم القادم؟”، ليضحك الخليفي ويرفض الحديث.

ثم كرر المراسل سؤاله مرة أخرى لـ للخليفي، ليرد القطري: “يا له من سؤال!”.

O técnico Cristovão Borges – assim como o presidente Eurico Miranda – foi muito hostilizado pelos torcedores do Vasco durante e após o empate em 1 a 1 com o Vitória, na noite desta quinta-feira, pela ida da terceira fase da Copa do Brasil, em São Januário. The Latest: Romano’s Twitter post

Romano posted on Twitter on Saturday night, describing Soppy as a ‘huge talent’, with talks opened between Celtic and Rennes.

However, he appeared to make a slight mistake by claiming that Soppy was a left-back target, tweeting: “Celtic are interested in signing Brandon Soppy from Rennes [19, huge talent] as new left back. Talks opened – but there are also French clubs in the race.”

L’Equipe backed up Celtic’s interest on Sunday morning, claiming that Rennes will set the bar at €5m (£4.27m).

The Verdict: Right-back additions are needed

Following the permanent exits of Jeremie Frimpong and Hatem Elhamed earlier this year, Celtic are in need of right-back reinforcements rather quickly – Anthony Ralston is currently their only natural option in that role.

It’s an area of the pitch where Ange Postecoglou wants to recruit before the Hoops’ Champions League qualifier, and Soppy could be a better target than Sheffield United’s George Baldock, for whom Celtic were willing to pay £8m.

Soppy is nine years Baldock’s junior, is valued at £1.8m more than the Blades man and would more than likely be a better long-term addition.

Celtic aren’t the only side interested in the teenager, though, so they may have to act fast and possibly pay over the odds for his services.

Steven Gerrard has revealed that summer Glasgow Rangers arrival Nnamdi Ofoborh has a heart issue and will be out of action for a while.

“I don’t think you’ll see him in the short term.

“Unfortunately something has flagged up with his ECG, which is the heart test.

“We’ve got top medical people here at the club now and we check all the players thoroughly from head to toe when they arrive.

“Unfortunately there’s been a bit of a red flag with a heart issue so he’s going to see some specialists in the coming weeks and we need to do more tests before we move forward.

“It’s disappointing and frustrating but we’ll have to manage and cope.

“The important thing is the player’s health, which we’ll obviously focus on first and foremost.

“Of course it is disappointing and frustrating for the player but I spoke to him yesterday, told him to keep smiling and be patient and we will do everything we can to support him, get him in front of the right people and the right support and hopefully he will be back, not too long.”

The Verdict: Unfortunate

This is very unfortunate for all involved at the club. Ofoborh will have been hoping to make an immediate impact following his switch to Ibrox, but he is now facing a considerable spell on the sidelines as the Gers’ medical staff aim to get to the bottom of the issue. Gerrard will also be disappointed to lose a new signing just weeks after he arrived, as evidenced by his comments on the episode.

However, the most important thing is Ofoborh’s health. As we saw with the traumatic incident involving Denmark’s Christian Eriksen at Euro 2020, a major health issue can occur at any moment, so it is vital that no risks are taken with the youngster.
