أعلن نادي برشلونة المنافس في بطولة الدوري الإسباني عن انتقال أحد مدافعيه إلى الدوري اليوناني على سبيل الإعارة حتى نهاية الموسم الجاري.

وانتقل ظهير أيمن الفريق الأول لكرة القدم، موسى واجي، إلى باوك سالونيك في الدوري اليوناني بعد توصله لاتفاق رسمي مع برشلونة وهذا ما أفاد به النادي الكتالوني عبر موقعه الإلكتروني.

اللاعب سيذهب على سبيل الإعارة لمدة موسم واحد، وأكد نادي برشلونة على أن باوك سيتحمل راتبه بالكامل عن الموسم الحالي.

وكان واجي قد انتقل على سبيل الإعارة في يناير الماضي إلى صفوف نيس بالدوري الفرنسي ولكن إلغاء البطولة بسبب فيروس كورونا، حال دون مشاركته كثيرًا بالمباريات وعاد بعدها إلى برشلونة.

Alisoki got beaten a bit too easily on one occasion to allow QPR a good opportunity to cross and he continued to struggle against Pawel Wszolek in the second half, so it’s safe to say he’s not the most reliable of figures.

Therefore, Bielsa could learn to regret picking (as per Daily Star) the 27-year-old at left-back for tonight’s game as the likes of Jacob Murphy and Jefferson Montero could definitely exploit his defensive weaknesses.

واشترط المدير الفني السويسري الحصول على مكافأة الفوز ببطولة الدوري الممتاز، كاملة والمقدرة براتب شهرين من راتبه، للموافقة على طلب الأهلي.

فيما أكدت إدارة الأهلي لرينيه فايلر أن صرف المكافآت في النادي يكون في نهاية الموسم وليس بعد الفوز بالمباريات مباشرة.

ورفض فايلر مقترح إدارة الأهلي بالحصول على المكافآت نهاية الموسم، ووضع هذا البند كشرط أساسي للموافقة على ترحيل بند الفسخ في عقده لمدة شهر.

Roma are reportedly looking to sell one of their key players in Cengiz Under this summer for a fee of around £50m, which will be of interest to Arsenal who have been keeping tabs on his situation according to Corriere dello Sport.

What’s the word, then?

The Turkish international has been in excellent form for the Serie A side so far this season, scoring six goals and recording six assists in all competitions.

Previously, the Gunners had a bid rejected for the 21-year-old back in January which was swiftly rejected, but their hopes of landing him in the summer have been handed a boost with the Italians looking to cash in on him in order to raise funds.

Under is one of Europe’s best young players. Since making his debut last season following Mohamed Salah’s departure, he has scored on his European debut – becoming the youngest Turk to net in the Champions League – and has already earned ten caps for his country.

Comparing Under to other potential Ozil replacements?

It is no secret that there is something odd going on between Ozil and Gunners boss Unai Emery. The Spaniard has left the German out of a lot of his matchday squads this season, and has told the 30-year-old that he needs to be ‘consistent in training and for matches, without injury or being sick.’

One would presume that Ozil may be set to leave in the summer, and Arsenal have already been linked with a few names who could come in and replace him such as James Rodriguez, Houssem Aouar and Under.

Ozil is unique in the way that he operates in between the line of midfield and attack, but the aforementioned trio arguably have more strings to their bow.

Aouar is starring for Lyon in a holding midfield role, whilst he has also played in a left-forward role, left-midfield and attacking-midfield – his form has even drawn rave reviews from Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

In that respect, the Frenchman may even be a better option than Ozil, and a better purchase than Rodriguez or Under as they are arguably more restricted in their roles – Aouar is also just 20, so he has all the time in the world on his side.

All this comes after Dean Smith has finally managed to get his side playing to a reasonable level again but an issue all season long has been how inconsistent Aston Villa are.

As an Aston Villa fan, it would be bad to get your hopes up but far crazier things have happened than a team like the Villans making a mad last-minute dash for the play-off places.

Whether they were to reach the Premier League or not, Villa know they need to recruit some more players over the summer, to generally just improve their squad.

One player who would arrive at Villa Park fully determined to succeed is Southampton’s Shane Long.

Long, (who is valued at £6.3 million on Transfermarkt) is a striker that hasn’t enjoyed a very successful two years or so, where he’s seen his goal-tally dry up massively.

But that doesn’t take into account how effective the 32-year-old can be as his work-rate is simply tremendous.

Never for a second will he give the opposition’s defence a rest and although he only has one goal and three assists to show for his commitment this season, Long has proven with every club he’s been at to be a valuable squad player. The high-pressing style so enjoyed by Smith could play into the Irishman’s favour, potentially providing a cheap alternative for Tammy Abraham.

Not prolific? No problem! Dropping down into the second tier could help Long find his scoring touch again, as he has done in years gone past.

The same would be the case if he arrived at Villa Park and although he isn’t getting younger, aged 32, Shane Long could give all his remaining energy to help Aston Villa become the Premier League club they always were, if they don’t return into the top flight this season.

Millwall host Brighton this weekend in the FA Cup quarter-finals and will surely go into it with full confidence after their impressive victory away at Birmingham on Wednesday and the knowledge that they have the quality to beat Premier League opposition after besting Everton in the fifth round.

The Seagulls, meanwhile, are also in a buoyant mood – they beat bitter rivals Crystal Palace last time out in what was only their second win of 2019.

Below, Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas offers his predictions ahead of what promises to be a gritty clash…

“The one thing you’ll know you’ll get is blood and guts. A little bit of quality in there and they can show it. Steve Morison is a handful. It’ll be volatile with the crowd as we know it can be down there at the Den.

“This is a hard match to call. Brighton have still got some work to do in the Premier League. But why not go for it? Play your strongest team. I think it will be very tight.”

The wrong striker

Nicholas predicted a scoreline of 2-1 to the visitors, although his comments about the threat Millwall pose to Brighton are interesting considering the impact Lee Gregory made on Wednesday night.

Gregory teed up Ben Thompson twice in the first half and has surely earned his starting spot this weekend if Neil Harris is going to throw everything at the tie, while the 4-5-1 the Lions boss went with in that game was effective at keeping the Blues out after Millwall had gone two ahead – that leaves no room for a second striker.

Brighton will surely look to go to The Den looking to impose their style and there will undoubtedly be space for Millwall when they look to attack – perhaps they don’t need to rely on Morison’s physicality to get the job done and can instead continue with Gregory.

It’s surprising considering how well the Lions number 9 did on Wednesday that Nicholas has mentioned Morison instead – sure, the veteran striker has been a key player for Harris’ side in the previous rounds but he’s only made three starts since the end of January and Gregory’s latest showing surely deserves mention.

It has been reported by Spanish football media outlet AS that Arsenal manager Unai Emery was in his native Spain over the weekend, scouting Getafe centre-back and Togolese international Djené Dakonam in a 0-0 draw with Valencia.

What’s the word, then?

Per the aforementioned report, despite their manager’s more recent scouting mission, the Gunners have had their eye on the 27-year-old for some time, since last summer in fact.

Then, they failed to meet the physical defender’s release clause of €35 million, but the rumours continue to swirl and after all, Emery is still watching Djene very closely indeed.

At the Coliseum Alfonso Perez the versatile 5ft 10in star has thrived, quickly becoming a first-team regular and to this date has made 66 appearances, with one goal to his name.

In 2018/2019, the Tongolese has been a mainstay of the Deep Blues’ backline as they’ve shocked Spain’s top division by sitting in fourth place with matches running out, meaning he’s attracted continued interest from the Premier League giants.

Stay away Arsenal

The Gunners currently have five first-team centre-backs with a whole host of players that can and do fill in when they’re required to, more than enough.

The bulk of them are above the age of 25 and vastly experienced not just in the Premier League, but across Europe’s top five leagues.

Therefore, if they anyone does depart, they need to be properly replaced with defenders who have real experience in the top five leagues of this continent, something Djene just doesn’t possess.

Despite being 27, the powerful centre-back has only been a La Liga star for around a season-and-a-half and has no previous experience in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Even if we do take his experience in the Spanish top flight into account, the league is still widely thought to be of a much lower quality to the English equivalent that he would have to get used to in north London.

For these reasons, while the versatility of the player who can also do a job in the right-back position will be appealing to Emery, Arsenal should stay away from a move for the Getafe man and look elsewhere if they’re wanting to bolster their central defence.
